Terra Hex: Soil is the Solution
Brief
Agriculture mismanagement and climate change cause the loss of 23 billion tons of fertile soil annually
RSA Apply AI
How might we empower communities to use AI to tackle the local challenges of climate change?
115 million tonnes of nitrogen fertiliser is used globally a year. However, only 35% is used. 75 million tonnes of fertiliser run off polluting natural environments.
40% of Earths land is used for agriculture. Agriculture has an extreme reliance on chemical fertiliser (NPK). This is due to inaccurate knowledge, (with farmers provided laboratory soil test one per field and does not provide in time data), and apply the fertiliser with extremely heavy machinery.
The Issue
An AI soil sensor and app that promotes regenerative agriculture and accurate fertilisation to diminish farmers’ contribution to climate change while fostering community-led mitigation of climate challenges.
Solution
The soil sensor has an inbuilt fertiliser.
The fertiliser utilises AI and Chempeg technology which collects NPK data and sprays fertiliser in 10 meter radius based of the data and soils needs.applies This innovation aims ensures accuracy, and reduces extreme costs and environmental damages of traditional application.
Inbuilt Fertiliser
Hex App
The Hex app provides the data collected by the soil sensor providing accurate and in time data. The app provides unbiased and reliable information for farmers to increase their knowledge and adapt their agricultural practices.
Addressing farmers limited time and establish community participation in mitigating climate change, the Hex app, provides an area for farmers to share ideas and be provided awareness of financial support through providing location specific grants and incentives through discounts and benefits for performing regenerative agriculture.
Hex Community
NFU reporting fertiliser prices rises by 200% each year, investing in Terra Hex is a smart cost saving and provides more funds for other farming needs.
Protecting the optimal health of soil with farmers participating in regenerative agriculture along with Terra Hex reducing over fertilisation, encourages the mitigation of farmers contribution to climate change whilst protecting and improving the health of soil, which ensures the longevity of our land, increases ability to withstand climate threats such as flooding and improves biodiversity. Overall, Terra Hex promotes the longevity of agriculture and ensures beneficial and reliable information will be provided to future generations.
